Sam Smith is naturally heading toward #1 in his home country as “Too Good at Goodbyes” (Capitol) sails to the top of Spotify’s U.K. Top 50, the iTunes chart and the Official Singles midweek tally.
Smith is currently outselling Dua Lipa’s “New Rules” (Warner Bros.) by 2:1. Should it hold onto its midweek peak, Smith’s first single in two years will be his sixth #1 in Blighty. (His hits have included tracks on his debut album, a James Bond theme tune, a Red Nose Day charity track and as a featured artist with Naughty Boy.)
Over on albums, The National are eyeing their first ever #1.
