DWIGHT + WHITE = BLUE
6/1/16

The great Dwight Yoakam has partnered with Jack White's Third Man Records for a limited-edition 7" in its Blue Series, and that information alone will have fans of American roots music salivating. The platter, produced by White, finds the masterful singer/songwriter assaying "Tomorrow's Gonna Be Another Day" (written by Boyce/Venet and made popular by The Monkees, about whom more later) and "High on the Mountain of Love," which has been covered by an array of artists including Johnny Rivers and The Beach Boys. A sampling of sounds can be found here.

The disc, which hits stores on 6/10, is available for pre-order now, and Yoakam has kicked off his new tour, with dates at the Venetian in Vegas up next. And if you haven't heard his most recent Reprise/Via album, Second Hand Heart, prepare to be knocked on your ass. Some words of admiration about that fine set can be found here.
