DESURE THING
10/8/17

The buzz is getting louder on indie singer/songwriter Josh Desure, who performs under his last name only; the mustachioed artist's opening set for Midland at the Troubadour last month had new fans running up to congratulate him throughout the evening.

Plying a keenly honed alt-country vibe with superbly crafted songs suggesting a countrified Paul Westerberg, Desure owned the stage more than any opening act we've seen in a minute. Highlights included such originals as "Kick Rocks," "Los Angeles" and "Tell the Wolves I'm Home," as well as a loose but heartfelt rendition of the Stones' "Dead Flowers." Desure has been ramping up his local profile of late; you can catch him at L.A.'s The Echo on 10/13.
