ADELE, MEET GRETA

Republic band Greta Van Fleet have been among the few standard-bearers for old-school rock music to rise above the din recently. The sibling-led outfit from Michigan (the three Kiszka brothers and their drummer pal) has conquered Active Rock radio and is making strides at Alternative with "Highway Tune" from their debut EP, while "Safari Song" is Top 5 Active. But we felt compelled to share this cover version of Adele's smash "Rolling in the Deep," which the band tracked for Spotify as a break from making their first full-length set. Singer Josh Kiszka hits those money notes with aplomb, and the arrangement is a textbook example of how to rock up a pop tune without excessive bombast. You can find the recording on Spotify's New Music Friday playlist or check it out here.
