MASTERS OF THEIR OWN DOMINION

In the wake of being nominated for Vocal Group and Album of the Year at the ACMs, RCA Nashville's Old Dominion headed to a dodgy-sounding Hollywood address to pick up their gold plaques. Much to their horror, they realized they'd been hoodwinked into visiting HITS HQ, where our own Todd Hensley helpfully noted that balloons are neat. Fortunately, rep Will Hitchcock of Morris Higham Management created a diversion and helped the Nashville hitmakers escape onto Hollywood Boulevard. They soon took refuge at a noodle joint and processed the trauma by writing a concept album.
