BMG MAKES SOME NOISE

In the wake of taking the indie pubco prize at the ASCAP Pop Awards (commemorated in the highly populated group shot above), BMG is celebrating new fewer than 22 #1 U.S. singles on assorted format charts. The feat is split almost equally between records released by BMG (nine) and those written by BMG-published songwriters (13).

From country to rock to Latin, R&B and dance/electronic to pop, BMG acts who have hit the top spot include A Perfect Circle with their latest album Eat the Elephant, The Monsters & Strangerz (co-writers on "The Middle"), Bebe Rexha (co-writer on "Meant to Be"), Lil Dicky with "Freaky Friday" (featuring Chris Brown), Jason Aldean for his Rearview Town, Poo Bear for his work on "Despacito" and Bruno Mars for his Cardi B collab "Finesse."

BMG U.S. President Repertoire & Marketing Zach Katz congratulated the winners, adding that this feat was "a demonstration of BMG’s ability to succeed in a wide range of genres and in both music publishing and recordings. No one else can do that.”
