U.K. CHARTS: MALONE PARKS AT #1
Post Malone has hit #1 on the U.K.’s Official Albums Chart with beerbongs & bentleys (Island) on 43k combined sales. The release has scored the third biggest albums opening week on streams in Blighty, behind Ed Sheeran and Drake. Over on singles, Calvin Harris and Dua Lipa are at the top for a third week.
Streams for beerbongs & bentleys reached the equivalent of 35k sales, behind Ed Sheeran’s record-holding 79k for ÷ (Atlantic) and Drake’s 36k for More Life (Island).
Elsewhere this week, new British artist Anne-Marie has hit #3 with her debut, Speak Your Mind (Atlantic), while Blossoms are at #4 with Cool Like You (Virgin EMI).
Janelle Monae has scored her first U.K. Top 10 at #8 with Dirty Computer (Atlantic), and Australia band DMA’s also have a personal best with second album For Now (BMG) at #13. Following this week’s ABBA news, Gold (Polar Music) is up 36 places to #15.
On the Official Singles Chart, “One Kiss” (Columbia/Warner Bros.) has shifted 70k combined sales and 7.3m streams over the last seven days to remain at the top.
The highest new entries come from Post Malone’s album, with “Better Now” at #9 and “Paranoid” at #11. His “Psycho” has also moved up four places to #6.
Further down, London rapper EO climbs into the Top 20 with breakthrough track “German” (Columbia) up six places to #18, while David Guetta and Sia leap to #19 from #33 with their latest collaboration, “Flames” (Parlophone).
