CHART STORY: BTS BLASTS OFF

BTSBighit’s red-hot K-Pop band—has dethroned Republic superstar Post Malone, debuting at #1 on HITSTop 50 Chart with more than 134k. The set, titled Love Yourself: Tear, is the sixth studio album by the seven-person group, the oldest member of which is just 25 years old.

There’s also Lil Baby’s Harder Than Ever (Quality Control/Motown/Capitol), which debuts at #3 with approximately 71k. This week’s other noteworthy bows include Five Finger Death Punch’s And Justice for None (Prospect Park), which comes in at #4 with 67k, and NAV’s Reckless (XO/Republic)—found at #8 with 34k.

Meanwhile, Post Malone’s breakout set, Stoney, returns to the Top 10. Jason Aldean’s Rearview Town (Broken Bow/BMG) jumps #16-11, as his song with Miranda Lambert, “Drowns the Whiskey,” prepares to chart at Country radio—where his “You Make It Easy” just went #1. The latter is currently #2 on our Country Song Streams Chart. And following two huge nights at L.A.’s Rose Bowl Stadium, Taylor Swift’s Reputation (Big Machine) leaps #24-15. Single “Delicate” is also Top 15 and climbing at Top 40 radio.

When it comes to marketshare, UMG is #1 with 49%, WMG follows with 21% and SME is #3 with 20%, while the indies claim 10%.

Streeting this week are albums by Island’s Shawn Mendes, RCA’s A$AP Rocky, Sony Latin’s J Balvin, Glassnote’s CHVRCHES and G.O.O.D./Def Jam’s Pusha T.

Now, we hope everyone has a nice Memorial Day Weekend. We, however, are still celebrating Stormy Daniels Day.
