SHADY'S BACK

At midnight ET, Shady/Aftermath/Interscope’s Eminem surprised fans with the release of Kamikaze, his tenth studio album. And boy, does he sound recharged. Within two hours, it had flown into the iTunes Top 3.

The set follows Revival, which dropped in December of last year and topped the chart with 267k—or 197k albums, 83m streams—in its first week out.

Kamikaze
includes two songs featuring buzzworthy up-and-comer Jessie Reyez and a song made for and named after upcoming Marvel movie Venom, as well as cover art that pays homage to Beastie Boys' Licensed to Ill. There’s also an interlude (or “skit,” as he calls it) named after longtime manager Paul Rosenberg that harkens back to the days of 2004’s Encore and 2009's Relapse—on which Interscope's Steve Berman also gets a shoutout. As for the merch, Kamikaze-branded products can now be purchased in tandem with the set. By going here, fans will find CDs, cassettes, vinyl, T-shirts, hats and more.

While announcing the album, Em took to Twitter, saying, "Tried not 2 overthink this 1... enjoy." He also made sure to include a middle finger emoji for good measure.
