Wow, just wow. Another rock and roll legend passes. While walking in a second line in NOLA on Saturday in honor of David Bowie, it was amazing to see the age demographic of the group and to see the diversity of the musicians that came out to pay tribute to an artist who spanned decades. Now with the loss of Glenn Frey—another artist whose career spanned decades and who wrote songs that were the soundtrack to a lot of our lives—it’s hard not to wonder who of the artists on today’s charts can fill those shoes.

Well, things over at Republic are in full swing with CW, Spangler and Russell banging out another list of tracks bound for the top of the chart. The Weekend’s “In the Night” (XO) moves Top 5 and shows no signs of slowing down. Shawn Mendes & Camila Cabello’s “I Know What You Did Last Summer” (Island) is Top 15 now, and 83% of sales DMAs are Top 10. DNCE’s “Cake by the Ocean” was one of this week’s Greatest Gainers again, while being Top 10 Shazam, #12 on iTunes and #2 on SNOL. After posting another #1 Most Added week at Pop, Taylor Swift is #20 with “Out of the Woods” (Big Machine). With 8m views on the video and some incredible callout posting, Fall Out Boy f/Demi Lovato’s “Irresistible” (DCD2/Island) is set to move Top 20. Post Malone’s “White Iverson” is #1 at Rhythm and moves Top 30 at Pop. Impacting this week is Drake & Future’s “Jumpman” (YMCMB/A1/Epic).

Another team that’s steamrolling through the first month of the year is Def Jam’s Sackheim, Rothschild and Farag. They’ve got Alessia Cara’s 2x platinum single “Here” in the Top 3, and it’s still climbing. Meanwhile, this week’s Greatest Gainer, Justin Bieber’s “Love Yourself” (RBMG), moves Top 5.

Epic’s Team Glassman have Travi$ Scott’s “Antidote” (Grand Hustle) Top 30 with a huge list of majors on board. By the way, he’ll be the opening act for the upcoming RiRi tour. Audiodamn!’s “Radar,” which was Most Added at Pop last week, is off and running with more than 30 stations on board. Next up is Zara Larsson’s “Never Forget You.”

Capitol’s Rainey, Youngblood & Siciliano have moved Tori Kelly’s “Hollow” Top 25. The track has big support from SiriusXM’s Venus, WXXL and WKST. Troye Sivan’s “Youth” is building a nice early story, pulling in believers WWWQ, WPRO and WZPL.

Columbia’s Leipsner, Borris and Vaughan had a breakthrough week on Rachel Patten’s “Stand by You.” Last week, Z100, KDWB, WDZH and WKSS all came on board, and the track moved Top 30. The Chainsmokers f/Rozes’ “Roses” stays strong with huge callout, Shazam and iTunes numbers. Adele’s “When We Were Young” (XL) is now Top 15 and is once again one of the week’s Greatest Gainers, as the album continues to break sales records.

Warner Bros.Gray, Dyer, Reich & Shih continue to grow Jason Derulo’s “Get Ugly” (Beluga Heights) with new airplay from Venus, KBKS, WKQI and KDND. They launched Lukas Graham’s “7 Years” last week with 40+ stations, including KZON, WWMX and SiriusXM’s Hits 1.

Artbeatz/Red’s Buch, Halpern and Weil have a Top 10 hit with Daya’s “Hide Away.” The sales and socials on this one are still on fire, as it continues to move up the chart.

Global’s Team Palmese pulled in 30 adds prior to impact on Nathan Sykes f/Ariana Grande’s “Over and Over Again”; early believers include KHTS, WFLZ, WZPL and WKCI.

Hollywood’s Finck, Smith and Ennis are out on the road having fun and making believers in Shawn Hook’s “Sound of Your Heart.” In just three weeks, this track is scoring the trifecta of sales, streams and Shazams.

RCA’s Riccitelli, JR, Daddio and Cooper were once again in the Most Added column with G-Eazy f/Bebe Rexha’s “Me Myself & I.” The track is Top 10 at iTunes on both the songs chart and the album chart, and it charted this week. R. City f/Chloe Angelines’ “Make Up” (Kemosabe) is now on more than 75 stations, including Z100, WBMP, WKSC and WODS. Justin Timberlake’s “Drink You Away” charted this week; new adds include WXXL, KRUF and KKDM. Impacting this week is Kygo’s “Stole the Show”; early believers include KZMP, KYLD and WZPL.

MUSIC WE LOVE: Nathan Sykes f/Ariana Grande’s "Over and Over Again" (Global), Bryson Tiller’s "Don't” (RCA).
