First week of August …. The downhill slide of summer, prepping for back to school and the end of summer promotions are all underway and you know what’s next …. Football!!!! This was the last Sunday without the NFL and the colleges are all in camp. I can hardly wait for it to start!

And speaking of excitement, Sia’s “Cheap Thrills” (Monkey Puzzle) is at the top of the chart for another week and RCA’s Riccitelli, JR, Daddio & Cooper are all smiles about it! Pink’s “Just Like Fire” holds on to the #7 position and is very close to closing out the panel. Britney Spears f/G-Eazy’s “Make Me” moves up to #21 and is the #2 Greatest Gainer of the week. 5 Seconds of Summer’s “Girls Talk Boys” pulled in HITS1, WDZH, WIOQ and WWMX last week and the single is Top 10 on Spotify in the U.S. & the world. New traction on Frankie’s “New Obsession” comes in from Radio Disney, WNCI, KDND and WZPL.

Columbia’s Leipsner, Borris & Vaughan have the #2 track on the chart in Calvin Harris f/Rihanna “This Is What You Came For” (Westbury Road) and the panel is closed out on this one. The Chainsmokers, fresh off their #1 with Daya “Don’t Let Me Down,” are impacting “Closer” f/Halsey (Disruptor) this week and should wind up at the top of the add board, there are already 60+ stations on the board and counting. Adele’s “Send My Love (To Your New Lover)” (XL) is now Top 10 and has Top 5 Mediabase Consolidated Research. The airplay is starting to build on Frenship f/Emily Warren “Capsize” with KMVQ, WNOW and WPOW all coming in prior to the impact date of 8/16.

Epic’s Team Glassman have the #1 album this week with DJ Khaled and the single “For Free” f/Drake (We The Best) moved up inside the Top 30 with new help from WFLZ, WFKS and WMKS. Both Fifth Harmony’s “All In My Head (Flex)” (SYCO) and Meghan Trainor’s “Me Too” have all but closed out the panel and are looking to join the Top 10. Zara Larsson’s “Lush Life” moves up to #37 with 100+ stations on board already; there are 320m video views on this one .

Republic’s CW, Spangler & Russell are just shy of closing out the panel on Shawn Mendes’ “Treat You Better” (Island), which is at #8 this week. Ariana Grande’s “Into You” is now Top 15 and was one of the Greatest Gainers this week. Drake f/Rihanna’s “Too Good” (YMCMB) is sitting just outside of the Top 20 and pulled in 26 adds last week including WNKS, XHTZ and WFLZ. Kungs & Cookin’ On 3 Burners’ “This Girl” (Sound of Barclay) is on fire right now: In just three weeks, there are 160+ stations on board and it has climbed up to #31. Hailee Steinfeld & Grey f/Zedd’s “Starving” charted one week after impact and WKSC, WWWQ and WEZB are all on board big time. Marc E. Bassy’s f/G-Eazy “You & Me” moved up this week to #39 and has some big believers in KYLD, KZHT and KEGY. Looking to chart this week is Demi Lovato’s “Body Say.”

Mom & Pop’s David Jacobs continues to pull in great airplay on Flume f/Kai’s “Never Be Like You” moved up a notch closer to the Top 10 and the sales, streams and views are all growing rapidly. Flume performed to more than 80k at last weekend’s Lollapalooza (pictured).

Def Jam’s Sackheim, Rothchild & Farag once again had the week’s Greatest Gainer in Major Lazer f/Justin Bieber & MO’s “Cold Water” (Mad Decent) pulling in a increase of 3,500 spins for the week. Rihanna’s “Needed Me” (Westbury Road/Roc Nation) moved up to #19 and is #8 on the Mediabase Power Play List this week. Alessia Cara’s “Scars (To Your Beautiful)” has 60 total adds one week after impact and Premium Choice starts next week along with KIIS and WNKS. Nathan Sykes f/G-Eazy’s “Give It Up” (Global Music Recordings) is close to 30 stations including WBMP, KUDD and WQMP and there are over 2.6m views on the video to date.
