I don’t think there’s one of us that wasn’t affected by the event in Manchester, England on Monday. Everyone that I’ve spoken to this week is shaken. We have all attended countless concerts, taken friends, family and clients with us and not once did we ever imagine that someone would do something so horrific. Our hearts break for those who lost loved ones and for the families of all of those who witnessed the horror that was Monday night… This was a huge week at Top 40. No one can remember the last time so many A-list artists impacted singles at the format in the same week… Epic’s Team Glassman scored big with Camila Cabello’s debut solo single, “Crying in the Club” (SYCO), posting 81 adds in T40’s toughest week. It had a Top 10 iTunes debut and charted on impact. After just four weeks, DJ Khaled f/Justin Bieber, Quavo & Lil Wayne’s “I’m the One” has climbed up inside the Top 10 to #8. It was the Greatest Gainer for the fourth week in a row… RCA’s Riccitelli, JR, Daddio and Cooper were Most Added on impact with Miley Cyrus’ “Malibu” last week, and the track has soared to #27. Republic‘s CW, Spangler and Russell had two songs in the Top 10 Most Added. Liam Payne f/Quavo’s “Strip That Down” pulled in 55 adds on impact, including HITS 1, KIIS, WWPW and Y100, and scored a #1 iTunes debut—a nice start for the ex-1D member’s debut. They also nabbed 28 new adds on Luis Fonsi & Daddy Yankee f/Justin Bieber’s “Despacito” (UMLE/RBMG/Def Jam), which is set to join the Top 15. That one was the #2 Greatest Gainer and scored a #1 U.S. iTunes placement, as well as #1 Global Spotify & #1 US Shazam honors. Julia Michaels’ “Issues” is now #7 and Top 10 iTunes and Top 10 Shazam.
