POP MART

Well, winter isn’t going away. Nor’easter on the East Coast, rain and mudslides on the West Coast and tornados in the South; must be March! Speaking of March Madness, are we all starting over with the NCAA Sweet Sixteen brackets? I know I am. Let’s get to the music...

Capitol’s Marella, Rainey and Siciliano are marching Niall Horan’s “On the Loose” up the chart, and it’s heading Top 25 this week with 150+ stations on board. 5 Seconds of Summer’s “Want You Back,” which was one of the week’s Greatest Gainers, is Top 25. The single also debuted at #1 on iTunes. Migos’ “Stir Fry” (QC/Motown) is crossing over to Pop. That one’s currently Top 5 at Rhythm. Major markets that jumped in early on the pop side include WODS, WDZH and WPOI. Impacting this week is Halsey f/Big Sean & Stefflon Don’s “Alone” (Astralwerks), which was the #2 Most Added track at Pop, pulling 60+ stations on impact, including Z100, KIIS and WKSC.

Richard Palmese and team are bubbling just under and looking to chart with LIVVIA f/Quavo’s “Catch a Body” (VIA). It’s currently spinning at 50+ stations with majors WKSC, WWWQ, Y100 and WKQI all stepping out early.

Republic’s Spangler, Russell and Dastur recently dropped the new Taylor Swift single, “Delicate” (Big Machine). In the first 48 hours, it scored 5.2b social impressions. It was the #1 Most Added track at Top 40 this week, posting 100+ stations in its first week of airplay. Post Malone f/Ty Dolla $ign’s “Psycho” is heading Top 25 with 100+ stations on board. The Weeknd & Kendrick Lamar’s “Pray for Me” (TDE/Aftermath/Interscope) will join the Top 10 this week, and it looks like Drake’s “God’s Plan” (YMCMB) will as well. Demi Lovato’s “Tell Me You Love Me” (Hollywood/Safehouse/Island) is now Top 20. Big spin increases come from HITS1, WAPE and WFLC, to name a few. Jack & Jack’s “Beg” (Island) has joined the Top 30; new airplay includes WXKS, KYLD and WFLZ.

Def Jam’s Farag and Rothschild have two tracks that are both building very nicely. Logic & Marshmello’s “Everyday” has already charted with 75 stations onboard, including Z100, KIIS, B96 and WIOQ. Arlissa f/Jonas Blue’s “Hearts Ain’t Gonna Lie” is set to join the chart this week; new stations include WKQI, Music Choice, WIOQ and WNCI. By the way, there are 17m Spotify streams already.

Epic’s Sackheim, Afloarei and Dimig have moved Camila Cabello’s “Never Be the Same” (SYCO) Top 10. This one should be headed to the top of the chart soon, based on the callout info we’re hearing. Meghan Trainor’s “No Excuses”—the #2 Greatest Gainer this week—is headed Top 15 with an all-but-closed-out panel on board. Disney VP Music Strategy and Radio Disney Networks GM Phil Guerini says, “Meghan Trainor is back with ‘No Excuses’… a lone-listen SMASH and this year’s song of the summer contender!” Kent Jones’ “Merengue” (Epidemic/We the Best) charted with 80+ stations on board; they include WKTU, WWPW, KMVQ and Venus.

Mom+Pop’s David Jacobs and Team Red have charted Alice Merton’s “No Roots” at Pop with 100+ stations spinning. The track is showing up everywhere in syncs; it’s currently in the Mini Cooper national TV spot and recently snagged The Blacklist. Also, watch for her on Fallon next week. Major market airplay includes HITS1, KAMP, WWWQ and WRNW.

Warner Bros.’ Gray, Dyer, Reich and Shih impacted Echosmith’s “Over My Head” and scored big, pulling in WRVW, WXXL and WLDI. Dua Lipa’s “IDGAF” is heading Top 25 and is new at WIHT, KKRZ, WXSS and WEZB. The track’s #5 on Spotify and has 150m+ video views. Marshmello & Anne-Marie’s “Friends”—another one of the week’s Greatest Gainers—joins the Top 20. It’s #4 on Spotify and Top 20 Shazam Globally. Bebe Rexha f/Florida Georgia Line’s “Meant to Be” (Big Machine), which has been in the Top 10 at iTunes for 18 consecutive weeks, is set to join the airplay Top 5.

RCA’s Riccitelli, JR, Daddio and Cooper have moved Justin Timberlake f/Chris Stapleton’s “Say Something” Top 15. Miguel f/Travis Scott’s “Sky Walker” (ByStorm Ent.) has pulled in 60+ stations and is set to join the chart this week; airplay leaders include KIIS, KAMP, WODS and KALV. Khalid X Normani’s “Love Lies” (Right Hand/Keep Cool), from the Love, Simon movie, is building a strong station list that includes KYLD, KMVQ, WPOW and KBFF. They’re probably still celebrating their #1 with G-Eazy & Halsey’s “Him & I” as they drop second single “Sober,” which features Charlie Puth (BPG/Revels Group). It was among the Most Added this week, scoring airplay from KIIS, KZZP, B96 and WNOW.

After a very successful promo run, Hollywood’s Finck, Smith and Ennis have In Real Life’s “Tattoo (How ‘Bout You)” set to join the chart with help from 30+ stations, including KDIS, WZFT, WAKS and WRVW. They’re also teaming up with Todd Glassman and Team S-Curve and are set to cross AJR’s “Sober,” which was #1 at Alternative. That one’s stacking up call letters quickly; currently on board are HITS 1, KRBE, WNCI, WNKS, et al.

Columbia’s Leipsner, Borris and Vaughan impacted The Chainsmokers’ “Everybody Hates Me” (Disruptor) and landed in the #3 spot of the Top 10 Most Added, scoring new adds from KIIS, KYLD, KHKS and WODS. They also have Foster the People’s “Sit Next to Me” set to join the Top 30; spin leaders include KDIS, Music Choice, WNKS and KYLD.

MUSIC WE LOVE: Shawn Mendes “In My Blood” (Island), Noah Kahan & Julia Michaels “Hurt Somebody” (Republic).
