GARRAT HIJACKS THE FONDA THEATER
3/15/16

Saving the smoggiest city for last, Jack Garratt concluded his U.S. tour with a sold-out show at the Fonda Theater in Los Angeles on March 11th.

Interscope’s self-produced singer/songwriter showed off his vocal chops, sliding effortlessly between raspy growls and sweet falsetto runs as he performed tracks off his debut album, Phases. The 2016 BRITs Critics Choice winner even managed to squeeze in a few dance moves between wailing on the keys, playing dirty guitar riffs and jazzy drum hits. Is there anything this guy can’t do?!

While L.A. crowds are notorious for being indifferent assholes during concerts, Garratt opened them up with a passionate performance of single "Worry," and got them moving to his sultry cover of Justin Timberlake's "Señorita." The audience doubled as a choir for fan favorite "Weathered," eventually taking over the vocal lines as Reverend Garratt shouted out the lyrics to guide newer fans.

By the end of the night, Garratt had girls screaming out, "Do me! Do me!" One gal swore she needed a dose Plan B after just hearing the baby-making music performed live. Oy vey!

If you’re in Austin for SXSW, do your soul a favor and catch one of his sets listed in the poster above. You can also catch Garratt's live performance on the MTV Woodies this Wednesday (3/16) at 8pm.

L'chaim,
