STRUMMING THEIR WAY TO THE TOP
9/7/16

Looking back, 2016 has been a huge year for Canadian Alternative act The Strumbellas, and they’re just getting started. After signing with Glassnote in January, their first single, “Spirits,” shot up the Alt chart, maintaining the #1 spot for three consecutive weeks. This exposure gave them the velocity to reach milestones like performing at festivals—including Lollapalooza, British Summer Time and Newport Folk Festival—and playing sets with their personal idols, Mumford & Sons. Can you tell I’m kvelling? Oy.

I caught their live show with our Queen of Alternative, Karen Glauber, at Alt 98.7’s Summer Camp, where we tried to convince the band to marry us if Trump wins the presidency; in case you were wondering, they obliged after Karen promised Daniel Glass that she'd provide a dowry to cover us both.

This week marks the launch of their second single, “We Don’t Know,” a heart-wrenching yet optimistic tune about the trials and tribulations associated with being a person. Peep iGen tomorrow for a look at their brand new video, or if you’re feeling adventurous, catch them live in Vegas at Life Is Beautiful Festival on 9/25.

L’chaim,
The Super Jew
