Universal Music Publishing Group has upped Dani Sawyerr to Director of A&R in the U.K. Based in London, he works with talent including Holly Humberstone, S1mba, Shobeatz and Noizu.
Sawyerr has been at the publisher for more than 10 years and moves up from his prior role as A&R Manager. He will continue to report to Mike McCormack, MD of UMPG U.K., who said: “Dani deserves this promotion based on the success he’s had over the past few years.
“He’s always been a diligent and very selective A&R, only backing what he 100% believes in, and is a respected and well-liked member of the creative team.”
Sawyerr’s promotion follows the recent departure of two senior figures in UMPG U.K.’s A&R team: Caroline Elleray, who was most recently VP of A&R, and former Director of U.K. A&R/Director of International A&R, Mark Gale.
