Paolo Nutini, Charli XCX and Lianne La Havas are among the acts that will perform special one-off shows to highlight the importance of grassroots music venues as Music Venue Trust puts its third National Lottery Revive Live Tour on the road.

Emerging artists Baby Dave, THUMPER, Vigilantes, Everything Everything, Tide Lines, Jamie Webster, Superlove, Coach Party, Enola Gay, THE GOA EXPRESS, DITZ and Kills Birds will are among the acts that will plays grassroots music venues across the U.K. between June and September. The National Lottery is directly underwriting the touring and production costs.

Nutini will perform at The Cavern Club in Liverpool; Charli XCX will play a club show following her Glastonbury appearance, and Southampton’s 1865 will host a Glastonbury-warm-up-show by La Havas; The Amazons will play a hometown show at Reading’s Face Bar; and The Coral will head to Blackpool’s Bootleg Social. Sleaford Mods have chosen Nottingham’s 100-capacity Chameleon Arts Cafe for their Revive Live gig.

“At a time when many people are facing a tough financial situation it's fantastic that The National Lottery are supporting the return of live music with such a fantastic two for one offer on tickets for fans,” Mark Davyd, CEO of Music Venue Trust, said. “There are some absolutely unmissable and essential one-off events, but most importantly the Revive Live partnership between The National Lottery and Music Venue Trust is once again putting support behind new and emerging artists who need it the most.”

More than 10k tickets—about half the capacity of these shows—will be gifted to National Lottery players. Every National Lottery ticket-holder who buys a ticket will be invited to bring a friend for free.

There will also be a series of shows curated by champions of the grassroots music scene, including Chris Difford & Glenn Tilbrook of Squeeze, to highlight new artists. Radio presenter Steve Lamacq has selected two five-piece bands to join the tour: Goa Express and Deadletter.

“I jumped at the chance of being involved in these Revive Live gigs because I’ve always loved seeing bands at small grassroots venues,” Lamacq said. “The venues have been through a massively difficult time and it’s thanks to The National Lottery that we can help support live music at this level.”
