MORALE BOOSTER: KENDRICK ON SNL

Kendrick Lamar was the musical guest for the season premiere of Saturday Night Live this weekend. The Pulitzer Prize-winning rapper performed three songs from his latest studio album, Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers (Interscope/Top Dawg Entertainment)—"N95," "Rich Spirit" and "Father Time" f/Sampha.

Lamar's performance marked his third stint as musical guest and fifth overall appearance on the show (he popped up as a surprise guest with Interscope's Imagine Dragons in 2014 and Aftermath's Anderson .Paak in 2018).

K.Dot, who just wrapped the North American leg of the Big Steppers Tour, is generating plenty of Grammy buzz this year, with Mr. Morale touted for AOTY and Best Rap Album and single "The Heart Pt. 5" considered likely to earn a Best Rap Song nod.

With 15 Grammy wins and 39 nominations, Lamar has accomplished more in 10 years than we have in nearly 40. So there's that. Watch the "Rich Spirit/N95" medley above and "Father Time" below as we try to figure out what we've been doing with our lives.
