FLIPOVER FRIDAY: NEW ARRIVALS AT iTUNES & APPLE MUSIC

Morgan Wallen comes out of the gate as expected this Flipover Friday, topping the iTunes and Apple Music album charts, while a much-anticipated catalog makes a big splash among the new arrivals.

Besides being #1, the clean version of Wallen’s One Thing at a Time (Big Loud/ Mercury/Republic) is #3 at iTunes and has four songs in the Top 11 on the sales side.

Meanwhile, De La Soul’s catalog of albums from the ’80s and ’90s makes its digital debut thanks to a new deal with Chrysalis. The hip-hop heroes now have four albums in the Top 10: 1989’s essential 3 Feet High and Rising is #2, 1991’s De La Soul Is Dead is #4, 1996’s Stakes Is High is #6 and 1993’s Buhloone Mindstate is #8. Two other De La titles also appear in the Top 20.

Elsewhere, Macklemore’s BEN (Bendo) is #4; Daisy Jones & The Six, the fictional band featured in the Amazon Prime series of the same name, has AURORA (Atlantic) at #9; and Yung Wolf’s self-titled Wolfpack Global release is #10.

Besides Wallen, only one other new arrival lands in the Top 20 on both charts: Kali UchisRed Moon in Venus (Geffen).

New releases also have the top two slots at iTunes songs: Nicki Minaj’s “Red Ruby da Sleeze” (YMCM/Republic) is #1 and j-hope & J. Cole’s “on the street” (BIGHIT) follows at #2.
