Lone Star/Santa Anna is generating a lot of smiles thanks to “Bad News,” the breakout debut from left-field sensation Tyler Nance.
Until recently, Nance was plying his trade as a welder in South Dakota, but in just a week, he’s racked up over 1 million views, 10,000 creations and 50,000 followers on social media. "Bad News," which was released to DSPs on Friday (8/2), notched 60k plays on Spotify over the weekend via original and acoustic versions.
Todd Moscowitz and company are tearing up the country space right now, with Nance following on the cowboy-boot heels of viral star Bayker Blankenship, who’s topped 20m plays and 2m monthly listeners on Spotify in a matter of weeks.
Reports that Mosco will be releasing his own rap/country crossover could not be confirmed at press time.
