Who Needs Jennifer Lawrence When You’ve Got Rebel Wilson in a Suit of Armor?

What a memorable weekend this was, with Coachella, Kobe’s ruptured Achilles and subsequent painkiller-fueled Facebook revelations, a drama-filled Masters, the opening of Motown: The Musical (see Rumor Mill) and, of course, the MTV Movie Awards.

The unanticipated absence of double winner Jennifer Lawrence due to a “scheduling conflict” was made up for by the surprise appearance of one “Aubrey Plaza”—a stage crasher who closely resembled Comedic Genius Award recipient Will Ferrell. Other highlights: Snoop Lion and Ke$sha sharing an onstage toke, MC Rebel Wilson donning an Iron Man (or Iron Mangina) suit, and a solo Bradley Cooper accepting the award for Best Screen Kiss.

“Thanks so much,” he said. “Jen’s not here. I’m sorry. [Sounds of dismay from the disappointed audience.] I know. But she was great to kiss.” Lawrence’s Hunger Games: Catching Fire co-star Liam Hemsworth did show up to premiere the trailer for the second film in the series, coming in November.
