NEVER MIND THE BOLLOCKS—IT’S THE U.K. TOP TEN

Capitol’s Sam Smith returns to #1 on the British album chart this week, propelled by yet another hit song--“I’m Not the Only One,” which jumps to #5 on the singles side.

Last week’s album champ, Warner Bros.’ rock duo Royal Blood, moves down to #2. Did you know all the fat guitar on this delightfully heavy album is in fact a bass run through multiple effects? You did? Well, never mind, then.

222/Interscope’s Maroon 5 debuts at #4 (they will, of course, bow at #1 in the U.S. tomorrow); their "Maps" is currently faring nicely on the singles chart. Polydor’s ethereal yank Pop duo the Pierces has the Top 10’s other debut, landing at #7.

International monster “Prayer in C” by Lilly Wood & The Prick & Robin Schulz remains at #1 on the singles chart, marking perhaps the biggest success yet by a French-Israeli duo with a German DJ’s remix. Meanwhile singles from EMI’s EDM comer Duke Dumont and Columbia’s Dublin-based pop-rockers The Script have strong debuts.
