A MONTHLY FEE FOR DANCE MUSIC? WITHOUT NUDITY?

RioPort, Ministry Of Sound Offer Subscribers Dance Music, Not Porn
While many laptop downloaders are familiar with the monthly fee for certain Web sites, most aren’t used to getting music for the money.

Taking a page from the lucrative online porn industry, RioPort, Inc. and Ministry of Sound have partnered to launch a new Internet audio subscription program which will allow members to purchase and download tracks taken from American and British dance charts.

RioPort, a pioneer in the now-burgeoning digital download market, and Ministry of Sound, the largest global brand in dance music, will be breaking new ground with the subscription model, as most music sites offer pay-per-download type services…and most subscription sites offer porn.

"The strength of our subscription model lies in our ability to deliver popular content never before available for download to consumers in an easy, affordable and secure manner," said RioPort Executive VP and GM J.D. Heilprin. "We fully believe that there are enough fans of dance music out there whose bank accounts are not already depleted by Internet porn."

Members will be able to download their own Ministry of Sound branded version of RioPort’s software to store and manage the tracks they select. The tracks will be formatted in the secure Windows Media Format.

The service is expected to launch at the end of April, offering more than 100 quality tracks from all the leading dance labels. As of press time, there was no information on the cost of the service…or whether porn would eventually be added to the mix.
