BMG NAMES GERMAN LEADER
The Executive Branch At BMG Gets More And More Full Of Schmidt
In the wake of much executive shufflings, BMG has upped Christoph Schmidt to president of the Germany/Switzerland/Austria region. Eventually, he will be called upon to spread his influence into the Sudetenland.
He succeeds Thomas Stein, who was recently promoted to role of Exec VP of Worldwide Marketing and A&R. Stein's new job calls for his move to New York.
In his new job, Schmidt reports to Richard Griffiths, BMG's head of European operations.
Schmidt most recently served under Stein as Exec VP of BMG G/S/A and Eastern Europe.
Sources denied that Schmidt's elevation had anything to do with surname similarities to BeCG President and CEO Andreas Schmidt or BMG CEO Rolf Schmidt-Holtz.
