PRESSPLAY APPOINTS THREE

Kaino, Newman & Luke To Be the Athos, Porthos & Aramis of the Online World
Nascent online music service Pressplay today announced three senior-level appointments to its programming and marketing teams.

The on-demand online music service—a joint venture between Sony Music Entertainment and Universal Music Group—has added Glenn Kaino as Executive VP, Head of Programming and Creative Director; Deborah Newman as Senior VP of Marketing; and Alex Luke as VP of Music Programming.

Kaino comes to Pressplay after serving in the same capacity for Jimmy and Doug's Farmclub.com. Prior to that, he was the CEO of Commwerks, an Internet development company specializing in advanced technology and creative Web sites. Newman formerly worked for Sony, N2K Entertainment and FullAudio. Luke is a radio veteran, who spent nearly 10 years as a PD and MD for stations including KPNT, KDGE and WKQX.

"We worked very hard to find the right blend of industry experts who could help us to provide Pressplay users with a compelling online music experience," said Pressplay President/CEO Andy Schuon. "This team of proven leaders has a combination of creative, technical and marketing experience, as well as vast music industry expertise that will translate into online music programming unparalleled in the industry. Most importantly, I now have three choices when it’s frappuccino time."
