FERRIS TO HOLLYWOOD VP POST

Former Virgin Exec to Run Label’s
Marketing Efforts

Eric Ferris "Bueller" has been named VP of Marketing for Hollywood Records it was announced today by "Dear" Abbey Konowitch, the label’s Senior VP/General Manager.

Based in Burbank and reporting to Konowitch, Ferris will be responsible for all aspects of the label’s marketing efforts from the creation of the visuals to the initiation of the overall marketing strategy. As the head of marketing, Ferris will oversee creative services, product management, artist development, tour marketing, cross promotional marketing, and advertising.

"I’ve followed Eric’s career for years. From his early days at CAA to his most recent successes at Virgin Records, I always knew he’d be a star," said Konowitch. "I now hope that adding him to our superb marketing and promotion team will allow Hollywood to build the kind of campaigns that can create worldwide breakthroughs."

Previous to joining Hollywood, Ferris served as VP of Marketing for Virgin Records, where he was responsible for the label’s marketing efforts overseeing product management, artist development, advertising, merchandising, as well as, lifestyle, tour and college marketing. During his 10 years with Virgin, Ferris was instrumental in the success of campaigns for artists such as The Smashing Pumpkins, Lenny Kravitz, Janet Jackson, David Bowie, UB40, N*E*R*D, The Verve, Nikka Costa, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Gorillaz and The Rolling Stones.

Added Ferris, "I am very excited about joining the Hollywood Records’ team and working together with the excellent staff that has been assembled here. We have a fantastic slate of new and developing artists, and the prospects of this year’s release schedule promise to be amazing. I look forward to bringing my expertise to the label and in conjunction with the rest of the staff make 2003 a breakthrough year."
