Forbes Hip-Hop Cash Kings 2014

SHOW THEM THE MONEY: With $620m in his pocket, Dr. Dre has topped Forbes' latest edition of Hip-Hop Cash Kings, a ranking of the 20 highest-paid hip-hop acts (actually 25, including ties). Since the $3 billion Apple/Beats deal, many have dubbed Dre hip-hop's first billionaire, but Uncle Sam might tell you otherwise. However, Forbes did rank him with the highest yearly earnings total of any musician ever. So there's that. Jay Z and Diddy tied for the #2 spot with $60m. For perspective, let us remind you that's less than 10% of Dre's income. Drake came in with $33m and indie stars Macklemore and Ryan Lewis rounded out the Top 5 with $32m. Nicki Minaj was the only female artist to rank, landing at #11 with $14m. For the full list of madly wealthy people who are ostensibly keeping it real, click here. (9/23p)
