Apple's 9/9 event

THE BIG TEASE: This is Apple’s idea of letting it all hang out. The inscrutable tech giant has become as adept at priming the rumor as making mountains of cash, and the speculation around the latest dog-and-pony show (which now has a date) has centered on a larger-screen iPhone, a wearable device that’s being referred to as the iWatch, a 13-inch iPad and a line of MacBooks with sharper displays. But there’s been very little talk about Jimmy Iovine, Dr. Dre, Beats hardware or Beats Music, and this will be the first event since the deal was finalized. It’s taking place at the Flint Center for the Performing Arts in downtown Cupertino for the second year in a row, rather than S.F.’s Moscone Center, where the Worldwide Developers Conference went down three months ago.
