Suge Knight shooting

PRE-PARTY PANIC: Former Death Row Records head Suge Knight was reportedly shot and injured early this morning during Chris Brown's pre-VMA party at Los Angeles club 1OAK. Knight and three other club patrons were shot, none fatally, sometime around 1:15am,when the club was evacuated. Knight crawled out of the venue and hid in a police car for 20 minutes before an ambulance arrived. According to TMZ, Knight is currently in intensive care after undergoing surgery at Cedars-Sinai Hospital. MTV issued a statement to USA Today, saying, "MTV has no affiliation nor is connected to this event in any way." Oddly enough, Knight has been shot at a pre-VMAs party before; the event was hosted by Kanye West in 2005. He was also with Tupac Shakur when the rapper/actor was shot to death in 1996. In other news of pre-VMA peril, a snake bit one of Nicki Minaj's dancers during a Friday rehearsal for "Anaconda." Fortunately, the bite was non-venomous; the choreographer wisely used a boa constrictor rather than an actual anaconda. (8/24p)
