THE DEATH OF PRINT JOURNALISM, PART 12,805: The cover of our print publication's most recent issue features the visage of Ryan Tedder, frontman of Mosley/Interscope's OneRepublic. In addition to the smashes he's composed and performed with his band, Tedder is the writer and/or co-writer of hits for such artists as Adele, Beyoncé, Maroon 5, Leona Lewis and Ellie Goulding, among many others. Recently, Tedder has contributed to the forthcoming Adele, Ariana Grande and U2 biggies. Even so, his HITS cover appearance may be one reason (to cite his band's big new single) "Love Runs Out."

Our Contents page VP, meanwhile, is publishing luminary Jody Gerson, who will step into the leadership post at UMPG on New Year's Day. With the announcement that she'd been tapped by Lucian Grainge for the post, Gerson's remarkable career began an extraordinary new chapter. After years under the wing of King of Publishing Marty Bandier—first at EMI Music Publishing and then at Sony/ATV—Gerson has broken through the glass ceiling, becoming the first woman to lead a major pubco. Still, this HITS Content shout-out may get smoke in her eyes. (8/18p)
