Next week's chart battle

BATTLE ROYALE, UPDATE: The latest on the battle at the top of next week's chart finds Interscope's Lana Del Rey likely to move around 175-200k, with Sam Smith still pitched between 125-150k and Linkin Park moving up to the 125k neighborhood, fueled by iTunes streaming. Still, preorders prompted by album streams tend to be highly front-loaded. Short version: If Linkin overperforms and Sam bows at the low end of his forecast, the WB alt-rockers could seize the #2 spot. But that's a lot of ifs, and Sam is due for a slate of high-profile TV (and a buzzed-about Apollo Theater appearance) that could well juice his numbers. Stay tuned. (6/16p)
