Ehmann VP A&R at IGA

EH MAN, WASSUP? IGA’s John Ehmann has been awarded his VP A&R stripes by John Janick, who’s still President/ COO of the company, though he’s ordered new business cards. Ehmann, 31, came to IGA in February 2011 as Director of A&R and hit the ground running, so to speak, signing and developing such artists as Lana Del Rey, Aloe Blacc and Cedric Gervais. “John has an incredible ear and eye for talent, and I’m pleased to see him step up into a bigger role at the company,” said Janick. “He’s an instrumental part of our team here, and his commitment to his artists can’t be overstated.” Ehmann thanked Jimmy Iovine, Janick, Steve Berman and Larry Jackson for giving him the shot, adding, “It’s exciting to be a part of a forward-thinking team whose passion in artist development is equally shared.” Ehmann’s first gig was an internship at J Records in 2004. After J merged with RCA, he rapidly rose from intern to exec, signing BC Jean, who wrote Beyoncé’s hit, “If I Were A Boy.” (6/4a)
