DOWNLOAD THIS: Columbia’s decision to push the release of Pharrell’s G I R L to Monday, just after the conclusion of the Oscars, telecast, on which he performed “Happy,” triggered a wholesale migration to today. That puts seven new releases in the iTunes Top 10, led by Pharrell, though labelmate Lea Michele has been playing leapfrog with him. The pre-order for Coldplay’s Ghost Stories, hitting 5/19 (see below) has put the album into the mix. The two holdovers are the soundtrack to Oscar winner Frozen and Beck’s Morning Phase, still strong entering its second week. “Happy” stays on top of the singles chart, just ahead of John Legend, another Columbia act, while the Oscar carryover effect has lifted Idina Menzel’s Song of the Year winner “Let It Go” to #4 and U2’s “Ordinary Love” from the lower depths to #8. Karen O and Ezra Koenig’s gentle version of the fourth nominee, “The Moon Song,” rises to #24. (3/3a)
