RAY PRICE, the country singer known as the "Cherokee Cowboy," died of pancreatic cancer yesterday. He was 87, and was still performing up until mid-2013. Price was elected to the Country Music Hall of Fame in 1996, collaborated with and befriended Willie Nelson and Hank Williams, among other greats, and recorded numerous hits, including "For the Good Times." He told Rolling Stone, "You can't be a great player if you don't have a great heart." Services will be scheduled at the Restland Funeral Home in Dallas. (12/17a)
