Sony/ATV ups Fain

NOT FOR THE FAIN AT HEART: Sony/ATV has upped New York-based Jacob Fain to VP, A&R and Research, reporting to Co-President Danny Strick. Since joining the pubco in 2007, Fain has inked Of Monsters and Men, Passion Pit and Capital Cities, as well as Chace Rice, who wrote the mega-smash “Cruise” for Florida Georgia Line (which was voted Best Single at last night’s ACAs), while also heading up A&R research in the U.S. Strick touted Fain as “the ultimate team player” while lauding his “passion for music [and] research acumen,” while the new VP expressed his thanks to Marty Bandier, Strick and Jody Gerson “for their guidance and inspiration,” and presumably for his Christmas bonus as well.
