Barnett-Burnett

BARNETT SERVES UP T BONE: CMG, already hogging the spotlight this morning, has one more log to throw into the already roaring fire. T Bone Burnett has signed a deal to bring his newly formed Electromagnetic Recordings imprint to the company, the renowned producer and CMG chieftain Steve Barnett have jointly announced. Lavishing Burnett with praise for his myriad artistic achievements, Barnett says he’s “thrilled that T Bone and Electromagnetic Recordings are making their home with us, and incredibly excited at the unlimited potential of our association.” Burnett chose not to point out that their two surnames are just one vowel apart, but he did acknowledge that “I am very much aligned with Steve’s vision for a 21st century entertainment company, and excited by the strong team he has carefully and thoughtfully assembled.” Six Burnett-helmed projects are on the books, including albums from Gregg Allman and Jerry Lee Lewis, along with The Basement Tapes…Continued, wherein an all-star cast will tackle a brace of just-discovered Dylan lyrics from 1967.
