iHeartRadio Music Festival social-media stats

THANKS FOR SHARING: Clear Channel has broken out details of the social-media activity generated by last month’s iHeartRadio Music Festival, during which more than 700k active users cranked out 1.4m pieces of content and 2.3b total impressions, double the amount of the previous year. Photo-sharing on Instagram accounted for 23% of all social-media activity, as compared to less than 1% in 2012. Other stats that caught our eye: 97k posts and 1.3m interactions were generated about the festival, resulting in 1,4m+ “total pieces of buzz” (as CC puts it); interactions were skewed female (66%) and young (48% were 18-24); 83% of all participants were under 34; and not at all surprisingly, Miley Cyrus topped the acts discussed, followed by Katy Perry, Queen and Chris Brown.
