Cowell egged on live TV

EGG ON HIS FACE…ER, JACKET: As 11.1 million viewers looked on, Simon Cowell was egged during the finale of Britain’s Got Talent Saturday night in London. Cowell and the other three judges were watching brother duo Richard and Adam singing during the live televised performance when viola player Natalie Holt of the backing group ran from the back of the stage and threw several eggs at him before being removed by security staff. Cowell removed his jacket and the show continued. Holt had competed on the show last year with her string ensemble Raven Quartet. “As a result of her misguided actions, the police were called,” a spokeswoman for the show said in a statement. “However, we have decided to take no further action at this stage.” In the same statement, Holt apologized to the brothers for overshadowing their performance, saying she realized that “it was a silly thing to do.” But she told the Telegraph, “I basically took a stand against people miming on television and against Simon and his dreadful influence on the music industry.” So there.
