Woman thrown off flight for singing Whitney songs

33 SECONDS OF FAME: An American Airlines flight from LAX to JFK was forced to make an emergency landing in Kansas City on Friday when a female passenger refused to stop singing Whitney Houston songs. The Hollywood Reporter picked up the in-flight karaoke story from a K.C. local news segment. Despite instruction not to record the event, one passenger shot video of federal air marshals escorting the woman, hands cuffed behind her back, being led off the aircraft as she belts an ear-piercing rendition of "I Will Always Love You." You can watch it here, but we don’t recommend it. Airport spokesperson Joe McBride told KCTV 5 that the woman blamed the impromptu performance on her diabetes. She was interviewed and released without charges. (5/14a)
