YOUR FOUR-DAY WEAKEND BOX OFFICE: The Bruce Willis-powered action flick A Good Day to Die Hard (20th Century Fox), the fifth film in the franchise’s 25-year history, won Presidents Day weekend with a $29.3m debut, and $37.5m since opening on Thursday. Universal’s Identity Thief was close behind in its second weekend with $27.9m, while coming out on top in terms of per-theater average with $8,810. The chick flick Safe Haven (Relativity) pulled in $25.1m to finish #3. The animated sci-fi movie Escape From Planet Earth (The Weinstein Co.) bowed at #4 with $21m, and the zom-rom-com Warm Bodies (Summit) pulled in $10.3m to finish #5. Warner Bros. Beautiful Creatures opened with a whimper, earning just $8.9m for the weekend and $11.5m million since opening Thursday. More interestingly, eight of the nine Oscar-nominated films made the Top-20, led by #8 Silver Linings Playbook with $7.6m and #10 Zero Dark Thirty with $3.6m. (2/19a)
