iTUNES CHARTS: It’s changeover morning, and sure enough, new releases are popping up on the albums and singles Top 10s. Josh Groban’s new LP has zoomed to #1, leading four more debuts onto the leaderboard—Christian hard rockers Red, Tim McGraw, rapper Joe Budden and Coheed and Cambria. Additionally, since we took this screenshot, the first solo album from My Morning Jacket auteur Jim James has climbed to #9. Singles-wise, no new release has managed to unseat the mighty “Thrift Shop,” but the first cut in ages from Fall Out Boy is the strongest initial challenger—indeed, it’s the only new release to crack the Top 10. Chief among the other points of interest on the splash page is an exclusive iTunes Session from Best New Artist noms Alabama Shakes—eight newly recorded tunes for $7.99, or $1.29 apiece. Top sellers thus far are “I Found You” and “I Ain’t the Same,” and the growth they show since recording Boys & Girls is remarkable. So sample away, um, boys and girls. (2/5a)
