Zep looking for streaming deal

STREAMWAY TO HEAVEN: Led Zeppelin’s team is engaged in talks with various subscription services for the exclusive right to stream the band's catalog, The New York Times reports. Spotify, Rdio and Rhapsody are believed to be among the companies in the hunt. Zeppelin has no lack of currency, having sold 840k albums last year, so securing the band’s streaming rights would be a coup for the winning bidder. Still, as Rollingstone.com points out, exclusive content doesn't usually stay that way for long: the Red Hot Chili Peppers made an exclusive deal with Spotify last year, but other services now have the band's catalog as well. When Zeppelin finalizes its deal, the highest-profile remaining holdouts will include Pink Floyd and AC/DC. (1/8a)
