Boyle Joins Insomniac

COMING TO A BOYLE: Veteran label A&R, marketing exec and artist manager John Boyle has been named Chief Growth Officer and interim CFO for EDM promoter Insomniac by founder/CEO Pasquale Rotella, where he will oversee new business and expansion efforts for the company which promotes the popular Electric Daisy Carnival. Boyle launched Extreme Consulting, a music marketing and special events production company, after graduating UCLA. He also helped launch the Vans Warped Tour in 1995 and for 12 years, produced the SnoCore Tour. He was a major label exec at Irving Azoff’s Giant Records, Virgin and Warner Bros. Records, then went on to manage Alien Ant Farm, MTV rap star Xzibit and Blackalicious, spending two years at Sanctuary Music Group. Earlier this year, Boyle served as Executive Producer of Insomniac’s highly successful, inaugural EDMbiz Conference inLas Vegas. Boyle has a dual MBA from Columbia Business School and the Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley, with a BA in Economics from UCLA. Boy, is this dude overeducated. He currently sits on the advisory boards of numerous start-ups while also serving as an investor and board member of apparel brand and female DJ duo Posso. (9/13p)
