Faxon can split after pub deal is approved--Post

THE $8 MILLION QUESTION: In this morning’s N.Y. Post, media reporter Claire Atkinson looks into an intriguing subject previously broached only by our own I.B. Bad months ago: the future of Roger Faxon. “There will be plenty of opportunities on the table,” one source close to the EMI chief told Atkinson. “There are any number of media and non-media businesses who would be interested in getting him to lead their businesses.” Once the Federal Trade Commission green-lights Sony’s acquisition of EMI Music Publishing—a decision that could come in the next two weeks—Faxon can exit thanks to a clause in his contract, sources said. But unless he waits until both parts of the sale are completed, Faxon must forgo that $8 million bonus I.B. told you about in early December. (4/23a)
