Voice vs. DWTS

FUN WITH NUMBERS: In what is shaping up as an intriguing battle, The Voice held its own against perennial prime-time powerhouse Dancing With the Stars Monday night, TheWrap reports. The NBC hit actually took first place in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic with a 4.4/12, and 11.8 million total viewers. Smash, which followed at 10, performed evenly with last week in the demo, taking a 2.2/6 and 6.4 million total viewers. In its second week, ABC’s DWTS had 17.6 million total viewers, which made it the most-watched show overall, but it dipped 11% in the ratings from last week’s season premiere, settling for the night's second-best number in the 18-49 demo with 3.1/8. This level of performance bodes well for The Voice when it goes to two shows a week, putting it head to head with Fox’s American Idol. (3/28a)
