Myspace presents Big Easy Express event @ SWSW

MYSPACE LIVING LARGE AT SXSW: Myspace will present a free encore screening of Emmett Malloy’s documentary film, Big Easy Express, along with a special concert featuring Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros and Mumford & Sons with members of Old Crow Medicine Show. The film follows the three bands on their 2011 train tour of America. The event will take place on Saturday, March 17, at Austin High School starting at 8 p.m. Big Easy Express will have its official world premiere screening during SXSW earlier in the day at the Paramount Theatre. Myspace will live stream the concert in high-def to fans across the world starting at 7:15 p.m. PT at www.myspace.com. The stream will be viewable through March 18. “These great bands embody the spirit of Myspace, whose heritage is rooted in a commitment to independent voices, giving them a stage to share their music and art with fans,” said COO Chris Vanderhook. “Myspace has a lot to celebrate this year, and we’re thrilled to do it with our loyal community by bringing them this memorable experience.” Added Bryan Ling, the film’s producer, “We chose to work with Myspace because we like rooting for the underdogs.
