Ringo Starr to Release New Album

A STARR IS REBORN: Ringo Starr releases Ringo 2012, his 17th (!!) solo studio album, and his second on Hip-O/UMe on Jan. 31. Produced by the Beatles’ drummer, it features nine songs, two of which are covers, including Buddy Holly and Norman Petty’s “Think It Over” and the traditional “Rock Island Line.” Ringo co-wrote with Glen Ballard (“Anthem”), Van Dyke Parks (“Samba”), Dave Stewart (“In Liverpool”) and Joe Walsh (“Slow Down”). Among those who joined him in the studio are Charlie Haden, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Benmont Tench, Don Was and Edgar Winter. Peace and love, peace and love. Just don’t send it to him in the mail for an autograph. (12/6p)
