MELROSE HAWKING: Word has it that Steven Melrose, former West Coast A&R exec for EMI Music, is now managing buzz band Youngblood Hawk. Many thought that Melrose was a lock to join former colleague Nick Gatfield at Sony U.K., but that deal appears to have fallen through. His new act, an evolution of Iglu & Hartley, is being heavily pursued by several labels. (9/6p)
