Jobs statement in absentia

LOOMING IN ABSENTIA: Steve Jobs didn’t participate in Apple’s celebratory Q3 conference call yesterday, which was headed up by second in command (and possible successor) Tim Cook, but he did send along a brief statement clearly setting down his priorities. "We're thrilled to deliver our best quarter ever, with revenue up 82% and profits up 125%," said the CEO. "Right now, we're very focused and excited about bringing iOS 5 and iCloud to our users this fall." Apple is following the record-breaking quarter (see below) with its new Lion OS upgrade for the Mac, which is priced at $29.99. (7/20a)
