Gaga over Gaga

“BORN” TO BE WILD: Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way,” the title track from her new album, coming May 23, hit the web this morning, and you would have to be a complete Luddite to have missed it. The bloggers are already blogging overtime about the track, which has soared to #1 at iTunes and is the subject of a massive promotion at Facebook and Target. The song is a thumping, disco anthem of empowerment to the gay/lesbian/ transgender/bi community, with several observers pointing out the obvious stylistic nods to Madonna’s “Express Yourself.” Judge for yourself here. The timing, the Friday before the Grammys, is perfect. Nice set-up by manager Troy Carter and Interscope. At last, the record industry discovered it's 2011. (2/11p)
